Weekly Letter 10-9-2014

Our visit from the Librarian last Thursday was a special treat. Miss Tina read us two books, taught us two new songs, and made a jack o’ lantern in her “magic envelope.” We can’t wait for her to come back.
This week on Tuesday we had a Fireman come and talk to us about fire safety. He showed us all his gear and then put it on so we could see what he looked like. Don’t forget to test your smoke detectors!
On Friday of this week we will have a Robotics demonstration from a new company in town called S.T.E.M. The children seem to really enjoy when we have special visitors come to school.
Letter of the week: D
We will read:
How do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?
Duck on a Bike
If you Happen to have a Dinosaur
The Great Doughnut Parade
Some of our activities will be:
Opening Dinosaur eggs
Going on a Dinosaur hunt
Making Dinosaur tracks
Please remember to return permissions slips for the trip to the St. Gregory’s Food Pantry next week. We have placed a collection box in our classroom. They have requested soups, but any non-perishable would be appreciated.
Point Beach Prep is closed for Columbus Day, Monday October 13, 2014.
