Weekly Letter 10-2-2014

Dear Point Beach Prep Families,

This week we met Miss C, who loves cats! Our sight word is “can” and we learned how to say it in sign language as well. At our project table we made letter C crabs, letter C caterpillars, pomp pom caterpillars, Clifford headbands, and we made the life cycle of a caterpillar. At story time we read many books, including Clifford Goes to the Circus and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We also read a special book called On the Seashore by Anna Milbourne that Payton brought in honor of our class hermit crab.
On Thursday, the Point Pleasant Beach Children’s Librarian came to visit. Don’t worry if your child missed her, she comes every month and alternates Wednesdays and Thursdays. Everyone will get an opportunity to hear her stories, sing songs and play games with her!
For Music and Movement this week we crawled, did a crab walk, popped like corn, and pretended to catch catfish, clams, and crabs! We also sang a special song called The Color Farm and reviewed our colors.
Our field trip to St. Gregory’s Food Pantry will be October 16th and 17th. Please return your signed permission slip by October 10th. We are teaching the children about giving back to the community. Food contributions are greatly appreciated. Look for the food box in the classroom!
Have a great weekend! See you next week with Mr. D!
