Weekly Letter 2-12-2015

Posted in Weekly Letters on Feb 12, 2015

Hello Point Beach Prep Families!
This week we met Mr. R, whose favorite color is red. We learned American Sign Language for the letter R and the word “responsible.” Our sight word was “run.” At our project table we made 2 different kinds of rocket ships and a ribbon collage. We read We’ve Got Rhythm, Room for Two, Clifford’s Valentine, Arthur’s Valentine, and Franklin’s Valentines. We sang and danced to the Number Rock, ABC Rock, The Colors of the Rainbow, and rhymed to Rhyme Time. We roared like lions and ran in place. It was a really busy week!
Show and Tell began this week and it was a success! We saw a race car, red fire truck, Rafael, Rapunzel, a rabbit, red nail polish, a rocket ship, a ring, a reindeer, and many other cool items. There will not be Show and tell next week since it is a short week. Please bring in an object that starts with S on the first day your child comes in the week of February 23rd. This will continue through the rest of the alphabet.
Our Student of the Week was Cristiano. His Mom came in on Wednesday and talked about her position as a pharmacy technician. We got to wear special sterile hats and gloves and see how medicine gets flavored. Thank you for the lesson!
We are looking forward to celebrating our Valentine’s Parties on Thursday and Friday! Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!
We will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for President’s Day. When we return, we will have a review week. Enjoy the weekend!
